American Muslim Voices Film Festival: Examining Cultural Identity

Muslim American Voices Film Festival / Muslim Public Affairs Council’s Hollywood Bureau (MPAC)

Enjoy American Muslim Voices Film Festival: Examining Cultural Identity, a daylong film showcase that explores narrative and documentary films made by and about American-born Muslims. Each session is followed by a discussion about the films to engage perspectives on the American Muslim experience.

Each film is followed by a community forum to foster dialogue about the films and engage perspectives on the American Muslim experience. Programs include shorts, documentary shorts, two feature length films, New Muslim Cool (2009) and Valley of the Saints (2010), a Q & A with New Muslim Cool director Jennifer Maytorena Taylor, and a panel discussion on American Muslims in Film.
