WADJDA (2012)

Wadjda is both the first feature film shot in Saudi Arabia, and the first feature made by a female Saudi director. This is the story of a young girl who falls in love with a bike she sees in a store. She sets out to win a Koran-reciting contest with a cash prize, so she can buy the bike. Written and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour.
